David Moon has over 17 years of experience in the digital and traditional marketing, and nearly 20 years of experience in graphic design and video.
Until recently, Mr. Moon was the CTO of an industry-leading sales, service and leadership training, live events and technology company, with a focus on award-winning video distance eLearning for the automotive industry and Fortune 50 clientele.
David has extensive digital and traditional marketing experience in a wide variety of business spaces. Notably, in event and destination marketing—representing the number one family destination in America. He’s worked closely with major automobile manufacturers and dealers. David also has extensive experience with various small to medium-sized businesses and technology-focused start-ups. His digital roots takes him back to 1996 as a Guide of the then popular America Online Web community, the Web Diner.
David has extensive skills in traditional and digital marketing, graphic design, copywriting, email marketing, publishing, PR, promotions and organizational skills for live events and large tradeshows. He’s disciplined and accustom to working in high-pressure, fast-paced environments. David is hands-on, with high-level skills in Adobe Suite, WordPress, social media tools and Microsoft productivity products.
Moon has a passion for the arts, and has successfully executed social media promotions involving top-creative agencies and Broadway shows like the 2010 Tony-winning A Little Night Music, with Catherine Zeta-Jones and Angela Lansbury, the 2010 Tony-nominated Finian’s Rainbow Promises, Promises starring Sean Hayes and Kristin Chenoweth, and many others. David has worked closely on featured social media promotions with non-profit organizations like Broadway Impact, and Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS.
For three years Moon published a Broadway blog and niche social network with a focus Broadway theatre. He’s built out exclusive online content like interviews with contemporary and legendary Broadway stars, and served as the site’s community manager and editor.
Moon’s interest and experience in social media lead him to found the Social Media Alliance of Chattanooga—whose mission is to bring together a proactive community of marketing professionals in the Greater Chattanooga, TN area to discuss real-life best practices of social media and social media marketing. The organization is committed in enabling members to network in a friendly, ethical, creative and collaborative environment. Also ,the Social Media Alliance lends their group ingenuity to aid area need-worthy non-profits and causes. Monthly events attract 30—70 local professionals and influencers representing many of the leading advertising agencies and employers in the Chattanooga Area. SMAC has hosted events with well-known brands like Little Debbie, Nissan America, Arby’s Restaurants Hooters of America and The Grand Ole Opry, Nissan USA as featured speakers and guests. SMAC is the most active social media group in the Chattanooga area with about 200 members.
